Firefighters Knock Down Blaze in Hartwick Street House

The fire erupted in a single-story house early Friday evening.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters from seven different stations took 20 minutes to knock down a fire in a house in Eagle Rock Friday.

The blaze, on one of the hottest days in recent memory, erupted in a single-story family dwelling located on the 4900 block of Hartwick Street, south of Colorado Boulevard and east of Loleta Avenue.

Firefighters from on Colorado Boulevard were the first to respond to the blaze at 5:12 p.m., LAFD spokesperson Cecil Manresa said.

By 5:32 p.m., 34 firefighters had extinguished the fire, whose cause is under investigation, Manresa said, adding that the extent of the damage was not immediately known.
