Foreclosed Home in Eagle Rock Severely Vandalized (PHOTOS)

The graffiti-covered, three-bedroom house on La Roda Avenue looks like something out a horror movie.

A foreclosed single-family home in Eagle Rock is the latest victim of vandalism so severe that it has outraged neighbors and prompted an inquiry by the office of .

The Spanish-style home, on 5115 La Roda Ave., is located on the first block north of Colorado Boulevard, adjacent to the mini-mall where the is located and across the street from .

As the photos above testify, the house is severely trashed. The walls of the house—both outside and inside—are covered with graffiti. Floors are littered with glass from broken beer bottles. Just about everywhere on the property, there’s furniture, junk and garbage spilling out of trash cans.

It’s not quite clear who is behind the vandalism—or exactly when it happened. But a prominent neighbor offer some clues.

According to Ruben Perez, the owner of Figueroa Produce in Highland Park, who is on the verge of opening Organix, an organic produce store on Colorado Boulevard located right next to the trashed home, the vandalism occurred on the night of Friday, June 29.

Evidently, as Perez tells it, the inhabitants of 5115 La Roda Ave. had a party that night after the home was foreclosed. “They gutted the place,” he told Patch. “I came on Saturday morning and couldn’t believe the mess.”

The property is listed on IndexPost.com, a website for foreclosed homes, as an 8981-square-foot, three-bedroom, one-bath home that was added to the site on Thursday, July 5. The site does not mention the bank behind the foreclosure, although it does make this bizarre assertion: "Buying this house you receive 3 nice bedrooms." Patch is awaiting a return call from a real estate dealer, David Judd, of Realhome Services and Solutions Inc., whose name and contact details are posted on the website.

CD 14 Field Deputy Nate Hayward told Patch that he received at least two inquiries from residents about the vandalized home on Friday and that he is inquiring into the incident.

Stay tuned for details.
