Howling Fun Ensures Hill Drive Remains Top Halloween Destination (PHOTOS)

Thousands turn up for trick or treating in Eagle Rock's most prestigious residential area.

They began trickling in around 6 p.m. and by sunset, Hill Drive was awash with trick-or-treaters.

It could hardly have been otherwise. After all, it’s not for nothing that the Curbed LA blog deemed this single street one of the five best places in Los Angeles for trick-or-treating.

And so it was no wonder that at least three TV networks were busy filming everything from the splendid sweep of million-dollar homes along the winding street to the guy hanging precariously from a construction crane in front of the residence of Eagle Rock’s unofficial “mayor” and president of its chamber of commerce, Michael Nogueira.

As we hope these photos will show, what makes Halloween on Hill Drive so special is the passion with which many residents decorate their homes—and the near-obsession with which others go about ensuring that the couple of thousand strangers who walk up to them all return happy with a treat.
