Adult female driver and female juvenile arrested; six other passengers released.

The LAPD has arrested the driver and a juvenile passenger of an SUV that was allegedly stolen early Wednesday morning and driven through Glassell Park amid a dramatic pursuit by police that ended in two accidents.

The driver of the SUV—an adult female—and seven passengers were initially detained after the 14-minute car chase, which began at around 3:15 a.m. at the intersection of Estara Avenue and Fletcher Drive in Glassell Park, west of the 2 freeway, and ended at Avenue 32 and Andrita Street, Lt. Rick Stabile, the watch commander at LAPD’s Northeast Division said.

Besides the driver, the other occupant of the SUV who was arrested was a juvenile female, who was given a citation for violating the mandatory curfew for minors during the night, Stabile said.
