Playground Unveiled At Yosemite Park (Video)

A generous donation from the Luke family made the recreational area possible.

If you’ve walked by the lately—especially if you happen to live in the vicinity or if your kids go to Eagle Rock High School across the road—you might have noticed some brand new equipment in a revamped playground for children adjacent to the parking lot.

Overhauled by the Department of Recreation and Parks early this month at a cost of about $320,000, the playground has transformed the look of the recreation center—thanks in large part to Suzanne Luke, who not only came up with the idea but used some trust money set up her Eagle Rock family foundation to donate $70,000 as initial funding for the playground’s makeover.

On Wednesday, officially declared the playground open at a joyous ribbon cutting ceremony attended by dozens of children attending a summer camp at the recreation center.
