It's Tuesday, and Eagle Rock's most innovative Mexican mom-and-pop restaurant, the Baja California-inspired Cacao Mexicatessen, begins its five-day workweek, starting with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by a happy hour from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. during which tacos de la calle can be had for as little as $1.65 and taquitos de mole poblano for $2.95. 1576 Colorado Blvd., (323) 478-2791.

Don't miss your once-in-a-week chance to grab a bite of vegan carnitas-style tacos served hot off the grill in a food stall located in the parking lot facing Organix, Eagle Rock’s first and only full-fledged organic foods and groceries store that will mark the first anniversary of its opening on Aug. 31.
