115 Traffic Accidents During Morning Commute
The roads in L.A. were a mess on a rainy Thursday, according to the CHP.
There were 115 traffic accidents reported during the rainy morning commute Thursday on Los Angeles freeways, compared with 55 during the same period a week ago, when it did not rain, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accidents were reported between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. on both days, said CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.
In one of the accidents Thursday morning, a big rig jackknifed about 6:20 a.m. and caused the closure of the transition road from the eastbound Ventura 134 Freeway to the westbound Foothill 210 Freeway in Pasadena, the CHP reported. The closure continued past 10 a.m. as crews worked to clear the scene.
