5 Awesome Nonprofits in And Around Eagle Rock

 1. Did you know that the , is a nonprofit? In addition to its awesome concerts and comedy shows, this well-known institution, housed in one of the most historic buildings in Eagle Rock, hosts free media arts programs for youth, sponsors some of its art exhibitions and, in general, works to make art (in all its forms) available to “nontraditional and underserved audiences.” The Center’s site states that its mission is to "present innovative and multicultural arts programming to the communities of Northeast Los Angeles," and they do just that right here from Eagle Rock. 2225 Colorado Blvd., 323-226-1617.

2. Established in 1903, the has been servicing Eagle Rock for more than a century. The Club promotes itself as an organization devoted to promoting women's rights. 3. In nearby Glendale, you will find the head office of Glendale Healthy Kids, a nonprofit, non-government organization working to provide health care (including medical, mental, dental, and vision) to uninsured and under-insured youth throughout Los Angeles. Established in 1993, Glendale Healthy Kids is the result of a combined effort by Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, Verdugo Hills Hospital, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Unified School District, and the City of Glendale, as well as countless physicians and care-providers that work with the organization. 223 N. 4. (CERB) provides the many hands behind various community beautification projects. You've probably seen them planting trees along Yosemite Drive or picking up trash on sunny Saturday mornings. CERB is really invested in making Eagle Rock greener—in every sense of the word. They also working with the Eagle Rock 100th Committee to ensure that Eagle Rock's 100th birthday next month is a smashing success! 5. Goodwill is more than just a shopping destination for vintage-lovers; it strives to provide the community with affordable merchandise and provide jobs to locals struggling for work. Goodwill also makes an effort to create employees who are "self-sufficient and productive," as explained on their website.
