Celebrate July 4 With Fireworks And More

Fun activities for the holiday weekend, here in Eagle Rock and a freeway hop away.

1.

Where/When: Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, Saturday, 7:45 p.m.

Why Go: Beat the heat with a family-friendly flick. The film will be screened on a large screen poolside and you may watch either from the deck or the shallow end of the heated pool. Come at 6:30 p.m. for Family Swim.

Pricing: Movie: free; Family swim: adults $2, children 17 and under $1.

Where/When: Montrose Shopping Park, Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with this annual block party at the Montrose Shopping Park. The day's events include the hot rod and classic car show, plenty of food and entertainment, and activities for the kids, including a bounce castle, petting zoo, face painting and an obstacle course.

Pricing: Free.

 

3.

Where/When: Eagle Rock Recreation Center, Sunday, 3-9 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the holiday with a concert by Ronnie & The Classics, plus food and a fireworks display that kicks off at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Pricing: Free.

 

4.

Where/When: La Cañada Presbyterian Church, Sunday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: La Cañada Presbyterian Church celebrates Independence Day with this “Americana” themed concert featuring their 50-piece orchestra and 60-voice choir performing an array of classic, patriot works.

Pricing: General admission: $15; Reserved seating: $20.

 

5.

Where/When: Rose Bowl, Monday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: This annual festival features food, music and a huge fireworks display.

Pricing: Tickets: $13; Children 7 and under and adults with active military I.D.: Free.
