'Giantess Jemima' Signs Appear on Colorado

Does anyone know what they mean?

A number of colorful and cryptic signs have sprouted on power poles and trees along the sidewalk of the 2100 block of Colorado Boulevard, several stores east of Swork. Featuring a yellow-faced figure with green eyes and bright lips, the signs, painted on white paper and wrapped around poles and trees with Scotch tape, warn readers to be wary of "giantess Jemima," who is said to be 100,000 feet tall, with "rough feet," and is holding the Statue of Liberty in its right hand.

The signs were brought to the attention of Eagle Rock Patch by longtime contributor and diehard Eagle Rocker Carrie Borzillo. At one point on the sidewalk, the Giantess Jemima sign partly intruded into the space on a tree occupied by another sign—an open letter to a bicycle thief.

A relatively lacklustre but equally mysterious variation of the Giantess Jemima sign, evidently by the same artist, can also be seen on the sidewalk. Titled "Beware of Giant," the sign claims that a giant "likes catching frogs by magnet" and throwing them into outer space. He "eats paint for dessert."
