‘Good Will Hunting’ Hill Drive House Granted Landmark Status

The City Council has approved the house on 2327 Hill Dr., where actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon wrote "Good Will Hunting," as a cultural landmark.

The Los Angeles City Council has granted historic-cultural landmark status to a two-story house on Hill Drive where Hollywood celebrities Ben Affleck and Matt Damon worked on the script of the Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting.

The city council approved landmark status Tuesday for the four-bedroom, two-bathroom house on 2327 Hill Dr., according to the Eastsider L.A. blog.

The house, built on a sprawling estate in 1923, was priced at $849,000 in July 2011, but sold last year for considerably less.

The house was designed by French architect Jean L. Egasse for a local businessman, Albert Braasch, and his wife Constance, reports the Eastsider, adding that the property was sold by the family to Ben McNaughton in 1979, who rented it out to various tenants.
