Palos Verdes Kicks off Holiday Season

The four cities of the Palos Verdes Peninsula kick off the holiday season with the annual parade.

Despite the constant drizzle, the annual Palos Verdes Holiday Parade on Dec. 1 was as dazzling as ever. The parade garnered more than 200 entries, including a horse-drawn carriage, a fire engine, dancers of all styles, and multiple bands, among others.

We were in the parade in our open antique car. I have to say that the spectators were amazing. I wondered if anyone would come in the rain, but there was a great crowd, especially in the mall itself. And everyone we saw was smiling, waving, and saying "cool car" even though most of them were probably as soaking wet as we were. Hooray for all of you. You know who you are!
