Would You Allow Your Kids to Ride on Bike Lanes?

It seems from reading Patch that Eagle Rock is divided over the issue of proposed bike lanes on Colorado Boulevard, which would reduce Colorado's existing three lanes to two? Biking enthusiasts think this is a great move forward: It would  encourage locals to hop on their bikes, reduce their carbon footprint, and connect with their neighborhoods.

What do you think of bike lanes? Would you allow your children to ride their wheels down a Colorado Boulevard bike lane? How do you think bike lanes would enhance your family’s life in Eagle Rock? Or would riding down any lane, even a designated bike path, be just too dangerous a proposition for kids?
