Eagle Rock Music Festival Kickoff (PHOTOS)

Thursday night's community celebration at the Center for the Arts proves to be yet another Eagle Rock affair to remember.

Eagle Rock’s biggest night of the year, without a shred of doubt, is the Eagle Rock Music Festival. The Fourteenth Annual Eagle Rock Music Festival is scheduled on Oct. 6. But the fun started Thursday night, with a kickoff party that celebrated everything Eagle Rock rightly takes pride in—community, volunteerism, innovation.

Held at the , and hosted by Center Director Julia Salazar, the party was aimed at raising funds for the music festival, which is said to have attracted some 100,000 people in 2011.

Among the scores of people who attended the party were ; 51st Assembly candidate Jimmy Gomez; the Center’s board of directors and staff; and residents and music festival sponsors ranging from to Patch.

The event featured a silent auction, fine wine (and tasty India pale ale) served by , plus hors d' oeuvres from and Whole Foods.
