Wahid Duo - 8pm

The duo known as Wahid blend personal modern elements with a rich cultural history of ancient civilizations and melodies. Incorporating instruments that were first documented on clay tablets and papyrus scrolls, a new style of music is created that looks to Byzantium and the Levant for melodic inspiration. Their dialogue brings together boundary-crossing approaches to composition and improvisation that defy genre.

Leah Zeger Gypsy Jazz - 9pm

Leah Zeger and Tommy Davey form an airtight bond as they trounce and sashay their way through jaunty mid-century jazz in the tradition of the great gypsy jazz guitarist Django Rheinhart. Leah is a charismatic singer and performer and her violin playing is every bit as dynamic. Tommy Davey is a melodic guitarist who keeps the thing chugging with chunky and swinging accompaniment.
