Kids' Meditation, Night Music, A Flea Market

Patch helps you round out your Labor Day weekend plans with local happenings.

1. 

 (1822 W. Sunset Blvd.) is open every Friday night for dancing and hanging out. Resident DJs spin Brit, Indie, Soul, Twee, Madchester, Punk and Glam all night. The event is open to adults 18 years and more. Cover is $5 before midnight and $8 after.

Take a trip back in time at the Museum of the American West at Griffith Park (4700 Heritage Way). Kids get a chance to learn about the California Gold Rush and pan for gold. This fun-filled event takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

This is your last weekend to check out Eagle Rock’s latest art exhibit at  (4534 Eagle Rock Blvd.) before the show closes on September 7. The exhibit features the work of eight Angeleno artists. You can check it out Saturday or Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The  (1492 Blake Ave.) in Los Angeles hosts this weekly Sunday meditation class for kids ages 4-11 years. These classes offer a simple introduction to Buddha's teachings, emphasizing kindness, respect for others, and keeping a happy heart. In each of these classes there is a short talk, gentle meditation, and arts and crafts activities relating to a Buddhist theme. Class runs from 9:30-11 a.m., and it’s free!

5. 

On Sunday, September 4, check out the Pasadena City College Flea Market. This monthly event boasts food, drink, furniture, jewelry, art, household items, collectibles, records and more. Admission is free, and parking is $2. The Flea Market takes place from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and is located at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
