Online Bidding Begins in Center for the Arts Annual Auction

Center's biggest event of the year allows advance bids and proxy bids on the Internet before the April 21 event.

For the second year running, the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock is holding its highly popular annual art auction online, allowing the public to place advance bids as well as proxy bids ahead of the actual event on Sunday, April 21.

Online bidding for the Center’s 11th Annual Art Auction kicked off Tuesday and is scheduled to end at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard, Sunday, April 14. Those who won’t be able to attend the April 21 auction can place proxy bids online.

This is the Center’s biggest event of the year. It’s also among the most well-attended, not least because there are terrific bargains to be had. The auction features original artwork donated by more than 100 established and emerging artists, many of them from Northeast Los Angeles, as well as some remarkable non-art items.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward supporting the Center’s diverse art programs, many of which are free of cost for children so that those from relatively low-income families can also benefit from one of L.A.’s most vital and dynamic cultural hubs.
