'Walk Dead' in Eagle Rock, Meet Lonely Girl From Paris

Two must-see shows open in the neighborhood Saturday.

Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead celebrated in Mexico as a national holiday, is still a little more than three weeks away—but you can catch a glimpse of it at NELAart Second Saturday Gallery Night right here in Eagle Rock.

Muerto en vida is the title of the seventh annual “Walking Dead” show, which opens Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at the .

As gallery owner Sandra Mastroianni sees it, the show has a special significance this year. “Many of us have been struggling and have been a bit ‘spiritless’ as of late,” she says on her blog, adding: “But it is also a time for celebration—to be thankful, positive, grateful and appreciative of what we do have.”

Muerto en vida runs October 8 through November 8.

Another must-see Gallery Night show in town that launches Saturday—and ends November 6—is Bebe’s Bots, , by the Eagle Rock husband-and-wife artists who famously go by the name “Davis & Davis.”

Their multifaceted artwork revolves around hand-drawn ink images on paper of a loveable character based on a young Parisian girl in California. Read more about Bebe’s Bots and their creators in our Culture & Music columnist Dan Kimpel’s recent article by clicking here.

Bebe’s Bots runs Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Leanna Lin's Wonderland.
