Car Crashes Onto Sidewalk on Colorado

The crash occurs across from Dahlia Heights Elementary, just as school is letting out.

A sedan headed west on Colorado Boulevard crashed onto a sidewalk across from Dahlia Heights Elementary School Tuesday.

The car drove up on the sidewalk and hit a tree just as school was letting out, according to a Dahlia Heights Parent who took these photos and sent them by text to Eagle Rock Patch.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m., just a day after a major community meeting at the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock, on the Los Angeles Department of Transportation's plans to introduce ways to decrease vehicular speeds on Colorado as well as introduce a bike lane in each direction of the six-lane thoroughfare.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were on the scene.
