Eagle Rock Brewery to Takeover Former Fatty's Location on Colorado Blvd.

The building is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.

The Eagle Rock Brewery owners will be opening a new location that Eagle Rockers are already familiar with—1627 Colorado Blvd., the former home of Fatty's, a well-known and beloved vegan restuarant.

The Fatty's location, which boasts 4,500 square feet of space, had been up for sale for more than a year before closing down recently.

The building is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and will soon be home to the Eagle Rock Brewery Public House, according to the West Coaster, a blog that focuses on the SoCal craft beer scene. The owners are aiming for a spring of 2014 opening, according to the story.

The microbrewery, which opened about four years ago in Glassell Park, is owned by father-and-son partners Steve and Jeremy Raub and is a favorite subject of food and beverage bloggers around Los Angeles and Southern California. Eagle Rock Brewery also announced plans over the summer to open a tasting room in Monrovia
