'Even the Chickens Have Gotten Into the Christmas Spirit!'

Michael Scott of Eagle Rock Backyard Farms wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

For Michael Scott, owner of Eagle Rock Backyard Farms and Northeast L.A.'s premier backyard garden guru, the holidays are incomplete without his chickens. As the accompanying photo on Scott's Facebook page shows, a string of bright lights above the chicken coop in his backyard on an eastern ridge of Eagle Rock, south of Colorado Boulevard, is a fitting tribute to the birds Scott loves so much. Just how much can be gauged from the fact that four years ago Scott traded chickens, along with raised-bed gardens, for a high-powered job with Warner Music.

I thought it was illegal to have chickens or was it roosters?

Roosters are illegal if you don't have a big enough yard. Hens are legal.
