Holiday Message: ‘Support Your Local Merchants’

Banner on Colorado Boulevard urges Eagle Rockers to dine and shop locally.

If you’ve been driving east on Colorado Boulevard lately you might have seen a banner, just past the Eagle Rock Boulevard crossing, wishing you “Happy Holidays.”

But look closer and, under the greeting, you’ll find a message—or two messages, to be precise: “Dine Locally” and “Shop Locally.”

And at the bottom of the banner, a familiar legend that sums it all up: “Support Your Local Merchants.”

“We have a lot of creative stores—you’d be surprised at what’s out there,” says Nogueira, who lives not too far from where the banner is located—up on the corner of Eagle Rock Boulevard and Hill Drive.

So there you have it—don’t forget to support your local merchants, many of whom are a stone’s throw from the banner. “There’s some great stuff out there,” as Nogueira put it, adding: “You can even buy dinner certificates.”
