New Yoga and Wellness Center Offers ‘Health and Happiness’

A new yoga and wellness center opens its doors in Eagle Rock today, Wednesday, offering a combination of physical and medical therapies under a single roof.

Called Elephant Ayurveda and Wellness Center, the store is located on 1615 Colorado Blvd., next door to Comics vs Toys and directly facing Townsend Avenue. The center is run by Jessica Hall and her artist husband Dax, who live in Eagle Rock. A yoga practitioner for the past 16 years, Jessica is also a certified practitioner of ayurveda, the ancient Indian form of herbal medicine.

Besides offering a variety of yoga classes, including vinyasa, kundalini and prenatal yoga, the center offers a full range of ayurvedic consultations and treatments for disease and disorders as well as general health counseling.

Elephant also offers green and so-called conscious-living products, including organic beauty products, teas, clothing, baby gear, organic mattress and electromagnetic field (EMF) protection.

“My goal is to create not just a wellness center and yoga studio but a place where community and families can come together to heal and help each other,” Jessica told Eagle Rock Patch, adding: “I feel very passionate about the ailing health of our world and believe it is my dharma is to start in my own community—to provide the space people need to work toward self-realization, healing, and love.”

Jessica encourages people who think they might benefit from ayurveda but worry about its affordability to contact her. “A plan that works for them will be developed,” she explained. “Health and happiness is within reach for all who are ready to do the work.”
