5 Things to Fire Up Your Friday!

Center for the Arts show, senior citizen forum, ballet and more for the 20th of May!

1. In nearby Highland Park, Congressman Xavier Becerra is having a free "townhall" for senior citizens from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Seniors will learn how to better budget on a a limited income, protect themselves against fraud, and save money. The forum will take place at the Higland Park Adult Senior Citizen Center. 6152 N. Figueroa St., 90042, 213-483-1425.

2. Get your heart rate pumping and your muscles tearing at this morning! There's a beginning class at 10:30 a.m. Do basic ballet stretches and toning exercises with Laura, or if you're advanced, come there are higher level classes at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. See what this ballet-inspired workout acclaimed by actresses such as Melissa Joan Hart, Dakota Fanning and Jenna Elfman, is all about! 1581 Colorado Blvd., 323-256-5555.

3. Every Friday afternoon, kids and teens can stop by the for board games! It's a perfect fun and safe afternoon activity for youngsters. It all starts at 3:30 p.m., and is completely free! 5027 Caspar Ave., 323-258-8078.

4. Stop by the between 5:30-8:30 p.m. for the Friday wine tasting. This week's tasting features the "Bourgeois Goose." The cost is $15 per person for wine and artisanal cheese from Auntie Em's! 2114 Colorado Blvd.,  323-478-1985.

5. In the mood for a show? The , is hosting Lavender Diamond tonight at 8 p.m. All ages are welcome and the cover is $10 when you buy ahead of time, or $12 at the door. 2225 Colorado Blvd.
