Festival of Trees is on Saturday

The Women's Club will feature 20 Christmas trees for viewing and bidding—promotional certificates may be donated for placement on the Chamber of Commerce tree.

Thanksgiving officially rang in the holiday season—and a traditional event on Saturday is bound to put many Eagle Rockers firmly in the Christmas spirit.

The Festival of Trees, one of Eagle Rock’s most colorful and well-attended annual events, is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Women's Twentieth Century Club of Eagle Rock. Organized by the club as the historic institution's annual fundraiser, the event will feature—as it does every year—precisely 20 beautifully decorated trees for viewing as well as bidding.

The trees will be decorated by businesses, community organizations or individuals. Individuals interested in showcasing their businesses—or talents—should get in touch with a member of the club’s board of directors, 4th Vice President Holly Nieto, by calling her at (323) 259-2598 or e-mailing hnieto@oxy.edu.

People interested in donating promotional certificates about their businesses, which will be placed on the tree belonging to the Eagle Rock Chamber of Commerce as a token of recognition, should contact 2nd Vice President Roe Munzingo. Munzingo, who will be decorating the chamber’s tree, can be reached at (818) 209-4816. She will make arrangements to pick up your certificate.

Tickets cost $30 each and must be purchased in advance. Each ticket includes admission as well as hors d'oeuvres and will be held at the event if you send a check payable to "WTCC" at P.O. Box 412218, Los Angeles, CA 90041. (Write "Attn: Festival of Trees" at the bottom of the check.)
