The ghoulish Halloween-worthy colors in this photograph by Eagle Rock resident Herb West show an alleyway somewhere in the neighborhood. Eagle Rock’s official color is neatly captured in the photo's greenish cast, a probable effect that West attributes to mercury vapor lights in the street, which, as he puts it, appear blue to the eyes but create a green tint on photographs.
“I did not color correct,” says West, a professional cameraman who regularly makes photographic contributions to Eagle Rock Patch. “I did do some post-processing," he adds, explaining why: "This is not news—this is art, or so some might say.”
At any rate, a perfect image for Halloween.
