Has This Sign Outlived its Usefulness?

In the aftermath of municipal elections of the sort we had just this past May, many people complain, with not a little frustration, that electoral candidates leave their campaign signs all over the neighborhood, adding not only to urban blight but to the already heavy load of city government clean-up crews.

Sometimes, however, it's the City of Los Angeles itself that's arguably "guilty" of this practice. As the sign in this photo testifies, the end-of-June e-waste collection days at Eagle Rock Plaza are long over, but for better or worse, the memory of the event still persists.
