Oxy Sexual Assault Coaltion to Protest College's Alert System Today

Protestors say the administration did not alert students of the alleged sexual assault until the media began reporting on it.

Members of Occidental College's Sexual Assault Coalition will gather at 12:30 p.m. on Friday to protest the school's failure to immediately alert students about reports of rape near the campus shortly after midnight on Sunday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a female student was raped by an alleged assailant, who is also a student of the school, at a residence located on the 4900 block of Range View Avenue.

A blog post on the Oxy Sexual Assault Coalition's website reports that "[t]he Oxy Administration did not share this information with campus until local media reported about the incident."
