E.E. Cummings, the famed American author, poet and playwright, is quoted as having once said "the most wasted of all days is one without laughter."
Local comedian Damon Wenker wants to make sure that, at the very least, nobody in Eagle Rock wastes every other Friday.
Born and raised in Eagle Rock, Wenker produces the Whiz Bang Comedy Show, which is held every other Friday at 9 p.m. at Capri Italian Restaurant, located at 4604 Eagle Rock Boulevard.
Whiz Bang launched in June of 2012, and will return to the Capri on Friday, March 22 with comics Joe Nguyen, Brandie Posey, Erik Barnes, Oscar Sagastume, Josh Greenberg and Adam Cozens. Friday's show will be hosted by comedian Dr. Dave Robinson.
Nguyen, Cozens and Posey will also be appearing at the prominent Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland in April.
"I only book people who are good and funny--and it's free," said Wenker of the show, whose alums include Jonah Ray, Josh Adam-Myers and Timmy Williams.
