LAPD Officer Targeted In Drive-By Shooting
No injuries reported after unknown suspect fires on officer on the 5 freeway.
An officer from the Northeast Community Station was uninjured this morning after being the target of a drive-by shooting on the Northbound Interstate 5 freeway near Colorado Street.
The shooting was reported around 5:30 a.m. A four-door, older model, black Sedan pulled up alongside of the officer, who was driving home, and the passenger opened fire, hitting the car multiple times. A car window on the officer's vehicle was shattered during the incident, said Sergeant Roberto Alaniz.
The two occupants of the vehicle continued northbound on the 5 freeway towards the Burbank area and are outstanding at this hour.
