Blog: Art Snyder Tribute on March 23

Eagle Rock City Hall area to be dedicated to late Councilman Art Snyder on March 23.

Former Los Angeles Councilman Art Snyder, who died Nov. 7, 2012 at the age of 79 after representing Council District 14 from 1967 through 1985, will be honored with a commemoration tribute in Eagle Rock on March 23.

The event will be held at Eagle Rock City Hall, where a second-floor conference area will be dedicated to the late councilman, according to "Mrs. Eagle Rock," Shirley Minser, the longtime community matriarch and a close aide of Snyder.

The festivities will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Former and current community leaders and elected officials will attend. Snyder lived in Huntington Beach but his family still maintains a house in Eagle Rock, where he resided for many years.
