Blog: Get Creative at Cuculapraline-Frenchic

Pick up a new hobby or get in touch with your creative side by joining artist and author Yael Bolender in her arts & crafts workshops at Cuculapraline-Frenchic open to all ages and skill levels.

Complete bliss comes to mind finding that Yael Bolender has launched a real treat at Cuculapraline-Frenchic. The artist and author is holding arts and crafts workshops at her wonderful boutique on Eagle Rock Boulevard. Some of the techniques she will teach are collaging and decoupaging with images, creating vision boards, scrapbooking in journals, paper mache, and painting and decorating wood which includes stenciling and stamping. The best thing about it? Using recycled elements.

Everytime I shop here, I end up buying something that she has created whether it be art pieces, wallets, or even house decor. It really is a unique and lovely shop to find gifts, antiques, french products, and even other artists' work. You will be amazed at how many great finds this little gem has.

Yael was a professional arts and crafts teacher for 15 years in Paris, France and has even received a Bronze Medal from the City of Paris! She is also the co-author of Une Nouvelle Vie Pour Vos Objets, meaning "A New Life for Your Objects," which truly shows what one can do with reusing or recycling. I must admit, I have vowed to make a couple of things featured in this book. As you can see, you will be learning from the best, be in good company, relaxing and enjoying music.

The workshops are welcome to all ages and skill levels so you have nothing to worry about. What does matter is your love for the arts, wanting to pick up a new hobby, or getting in touch with your creative side. Each workshop day, there will be 2 classes of the same lesson. One will be for children with their parents and the other for adults. Each session is $20, but there are some pretty sweet deals such as 4 sessions for $72. The more sessions you go to, the more extreme you can make your project after having learned a thing or two. Also, if you bring a friend, they will get in for free!
