Blog: Food Truck Fridays at Colorado Wine Company

Have you been to Colorado Wine Company on Food Truck Friday?

Friday nights are Food Truck days at the Colorado Wine Company, which recently moved about a block or so west of their previous location just east of the Colorado Boulevard and Eagle Rock Boulevard crossing.

The Wine Company is now at 2305 Colorado Blvd., right next to Planet Tobacco.
The light and ambiance is what draws you into this cozy little wine bar. I love the way the afternoon light hits the racks of bottles up against the Eastern wall of the bar.

They have a large selection of wines from around the world—Argentina, Spain, Italy, Portugal, to name just a few. I had a taste of the Argentinian Don Tibunico, compliments of the house. It is a bold, rich tasting Cabernet mix that was subtle at the same time and left just the right amount of fruity aftertaste on my pallet.

The staff is very knowledgeable as well as accommodating and friendly, which makes for an enjoyable wine tasting evening should you choose to sit at the bar and discuss the verity of flavors you're tasting. The Wine Company also has a few tables along the wall if you want a more comfortable and cozy setting to enjoy the wine with your friends.

Every Friday there is a different food truck that parks out front where you can order food to enjoy with your wine selection. The flight on Fridays is five wines for $15, served with a cheese platter at the bar. They also have Lazy Sunday Four for $12 flights from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Colorado Wine Company also offers a great selection of beer for those who prefer the beverage over wine. Beer flights are usually Thursday nights. You can find them on Facebook @Colorado Wine Company for more information on events and weekly specials as well as updates, hours and directions. The website is cowineco.com.

This past Friday the food truck outside CoWineCo was The Hungry Nomad— well known for its tasty Mediterranean food. Some of their more popular items on the menu are the Fattoush Salad, the Blue Cheese Steak Sandwich and and the Zesty Chicken Wrap. The food looks and smells fantastic, very fresh, with lots of flavors prepared with care and served up with a smile through the tiny little window, which is evidently where you get your first whiff of the flavorful smells of the frood as you step up to order.

You can find the Hungry Nomad's full menu as well as the month's calender of locations for their truck around Los Angeles. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter for their location and hours.

I think Food Truck Friday is a brilliant idea! Well done Colorado Wine Comapany, sounds life a perfect Friday evening of good food, wine and friends. Enjoy the photos and swing by the wine bar.

NOTE TO READERS: I am looking for people in our community who inspire you every day. They may be your child's teacher, your neighbor or your local grocery cashear. Someone who makes you smile each day, or goes out their way to help others in our community. I want to tell their story, and share why we love our little town so much, to show that it's the people who make the community our home. Please send in your suggestions via message on our facebook page @My Town Eagle Rock or email @ mytowneaglerock@hotmail.com

Thanks
