Patch Blog Video: A Visit to the Eagle Rock Farmers Market

In this entertaining video blog, our man-about-town visits the Eagle Rock Farmers Market and shops local. (Video shot by Peter Choi on a flip camera.)

YouTube sensation Rebecca Black might well have been singing about Eagle Rock in her viral hit "Friday" because this blogger recently visited a corner of our neighborhood, the Farmers Market, where folks never tire of partyin'—albeit in our signature laid back manner.

Living in Southern California, we are fortunate to have a variety of fruits and vegetables year round. It isn’t until summer arrives, however, that things really get going—and growing.

Organized by the Eagle Rock Chamber of Commerce—whose President Michael Nogueira, Jr., also manages the free weekly event—the Eagle Rock Farmers Market happens every Friday afternoon from 5 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Located behind Restaurant at the intersection of Caspar Avenue and Merton Avenue (one block south of Colorado Boulevard and one block east of Eagle Rock Boulevard, just north of the Eagle Rock Library parking lot) the scene is casual, festive and perfect for summer evenings.

I like the picnic tables to kick back while listening to music and the fact that this is a certified farmers market—which means all the vendors have been vetted by the Department of Agriculture. But a picture, as they say, is worth a thousand words, so let's go to the video!
