After endorsing City Council member Eric Garcetti for Mayor, the Los Angeles Times surveyed the crowded field of 12 candidates vying to replace Garcetti and endorsed Mitch O'Farrell as "the best choice for the 13th district."
Full disclosure: I know Mitch O'Farrell. When we bump into each other at Colombo's (he lives in Glassell Park), we say howdy. Before I moved to Eagle Rock, I lived in Silver Lake and still own a business there, thus, as both a resident and a business owner I was familiar with this very smart, very nice, very committed Senior Advisor to our City Council member Eric Garcetti. Having worked with Mitch on many community issues I agree with the LA Times when they say that he is "articulate, tenacious and well versed on the district. He is highly regarded for his responsiveness and his ability to deliver service to residents and business."
Certainly, Mitch's most ardent aupporters are those who have worked with him which explains why the business community of Silver Lake's Sunset Junction neighborhood are proud to show their support for his campaign (see attached video) and why his campaign office is staffed with many community activists from the district's diverse and varied neighborhoods.
Another strong show of support came from the endorsement of City Council member Tom LaBonge whose district covers a part of Silver Lake and who knows both CD 13 and Mitch well.
On March 5th, vote Mitch O'Farrell for LA City Council!
