I think this is crazy. I've seen a strong Police presence in the area.
Duff Strong January 9, 2013 at 05:59 pm
Good to see that the 'eradication' of pot shops stopped all that crime...oh wait.
Tim Ryder January 9, 2013 at 07:08 pm
Well, Eagle Rock is basically under 'Martial Law' at this moment in regards to the medical marijuana collectives. The Federal Bullies invaded California in October and shut down all the collectives in Eagle Rock thumbing their nose at our City and State Lawmakers Since then Crime has indeed shot up in Eagle Rock so at least the prohibition crusaders can't blame it on the collectives this time and they will remain silent anyway because they know they can't use that fear-mongering nonsense as propaganda anymore.

Tim- You are clearly a joke in our community, for god's sake please step off your soap box and save yourself any further embarrassment.
There are obviously enough people who back the DEA's play or they wouldn't have cleaned up this particular area. You are clearly myopic if you think the "Martial Law", (are you even sure what that means) of MMD's in our community was activated by only a few people. It is obvious to me, purely by the number of people that came out to the ERNC election to make sure that you and your ilk had no chance to take over that organization or our neighborhood. Look around, you and a few other people are the only people who want this in our community. Next you are gonna jump on the Rub and Tug bandwagon and want those on every corner too. Get it together and start behaving like an adult, its not too late.
Lightnapper January 11, 2013 at 01:31 pm
Come on-- "can't we all just get along" without the anonymous Internet name calling and the use of loaded code words such as "ilk" and "rub & tug?" I mean really! Even though it is stodgy ER, where you can't even share a glass of wine and some art without a full-on Vice Raid (West L.A. rules!), I do believe Patch/AOL still grants Mr. Ryder the opportunity to express a personal opinion as long as he remains civil and abides by the TOS. As far as I can tell, the Feds, Czar Hiccup-3-Car Huizar, and a smattering of wound-tight ER "conserves" haven't eroded the 1st as of yet-- although they certainly appear to be actively working on it. For the record, what exactly does "ilk" mean in this context? Is that a negative connotation? Or, are you just joshing? Perhaps, one man's "ilk" is another man's father, or son, or brother, or spouse, or friend, or business partner, or customer, or taxpaying, invested "stake-holder" community member with an alternative POV. But, hey, enough already with the personal attack, negative posts. Let's look on the bright side. Even though burglaries, theft from vehicles, GTA's, and wine tastings are the apparent norm in ER, at least one "alleged" "hand-job" is down due to extra vigilant police work-- at least for an hour or so! Although, by all "reported" indicators, unregulated/not-so-covert drug deliveries appear to be on the increase-- at least next to one "rub & tug," whatever that heck that means? I guess you had to be there, or wished you were.

First off, is an anonymous scolding anywhere akin to an anonymous internet name calling?
-I would hardly call what happened at Cactus "A full on vice raid" what does the word hyperbole mean? - "Czar Hiccup-3-Car Huizar" is this a code word? -Does the word "conservative" have a negative connotation? - "I recommend it greatly to you and other Prohibitionists of your ilk." This is a Tim Ryder quote from another post. It has the same connotation that he had when he posted it last week. -"in ER, at least one "alleged" "hand-job" is down due to extra vigilant police work" It seems obvious that you know what the "tug" part means. Any other questions?
Lightnapper January 12, 2013 at 04:50 pm
No that will suffice. I just knew we could all get along.
The "anonymous scolding" is a classic in and of itself. As regards to: 1. I always take literary license. It's the only real upside to Patch commenting. "A full-on vice raid" was hyperbole personified. I thought it was a nice touch. I blame it on viewing too many Van Gogh’s, the overuse of weasel words, and tepid Thunderbird. 2. "Czar-Huizar-Wrecked-Car" is also no longer a code phrase because you deciphered the first code phrase much too easily. It is still however political satire. It passes the time as I await the outcome of the accident victim/former LE officer's $$$$lawsuit$$$$ against the city? 3. Conservative is not a negative connotation, nor is "conserves." Nor is lefty, right-winger, Hippy Freak, Hill-dwellers, Pot Head, or flaming moderate. I made that last one up. It is merely a descriptor. Wound-tight however is slightly negative. Taken together I can see how that would appear biased. For the record, I left out Radical Leftist Commies because they probably don't read Patch-- perhaps censored. 4. I vaguely remember reading that sentence. As such, I am now duly informed. However, since my ilk is up, you both need a good anonymous Internet ribbing. 5. That's pretty much a given, although I have not yet gone blind or been struck down by lightning. It's been fun, but I gotta dash...my ilk needs milk.

Maybe we should focus more on the very obvious meth business in e.r. and less on the dangerous wine guzzling criminals in art galleries. It's the source of most of the smash and grabs, car thefts, burglaries, and local crime in general. As entertaining as it is to follow all the political back and forth , left vs. righty, commentaries and posturing, there is a spike in crime in e.r. and it was already bad to begin with. Ive had my house broken into twice, my car stolen, twice, and had countless items taken from my yard. Its time we work together to put a stop to this criminal activity and quit wasting time and tax dollars fighting to see who will "control" Eagle Rock. At this point it would seem the thieves are having a ball while everybody is engaged in an archaic struggle between left and right ideologies. This just in, we're all in this boat together, if we shoot holes in the bottom of it, we all sink.

Eagle Rock Patch is probably not where you want to post this. I don't think anybody is interested inRead More seeing more hillside homes.

Mj: Any witnesses to this incident will probably be key to your attempts to prove your son is notRead More lying. You might want to consider speaking to the parents of the student witnesses to try to ensure that the students will come forward and testify if necessary. If the parents can write—or sign—letters supporting your son's version of events, all the better. Get the letters notarized and send them to the concerned authorities, including at LAUSD and LAPD.

Hope you have phone insurance for stolen phones. If not you can file for a claim with LAUSD.

By the posting I'm assuming that this was known to be a "bad place." I see a lot ofRead More massage "parlors" in the Eagle Rock and Glassell Park area but not a lot of real professional CMT's, which is discouraging since that's my cert and trade.
Elijah H June 7, 2013 at 10:58 am
I'm thinking that this may have something to do with it - from the "Grand Theft Auto"Read More story posted today: "In addition, the vice unit of the LAPD Northeast Community Station arrested four women for alleged prostitution during recent investigations of 10 massage parlors in Eagle Rock, Preciado said. Two others were arrested for running massage parlors without a state massage therapy license, Preciado said, adding that the vice unit has not released the addresses where the 10 massage parlors are located.
