Chopper Over Silver Lake Monday Morning

Two cars from Central Division responded just before 5 a.m. in the 700 block of Maltman Avenue.

A chopper circling the Maltman Hills area of Silver Lake just before 5 a.m. woke residents early Monday morning.

So did the blare of a bullhorn in Spanish.

No charges were pressed after officers Central Division briefly detained a man in his 30s.

He was returned to his home soon after.

According an officer on the scene, he had apparently entered a neighbor's house, possibly taking a phone or keys.

He had then gone outside on the street and was waving his hands at police and the helicopter.

It's called "mutual aid", Mark, and happens all the time for various reasons.

This story is confusing and incomplete. The guy was inside neighbors house/aprt, got keys and then went outside to wave at the police helicopter? Wtf? Please explain a lil better for me if you would..@Anthea thankyou

@Spilly-That's how it was explained to me. He had gone in to the house, even talked to the neighbors inside. He then went back outside. Perhaps he was trying to get home as he lived across the street. Charges were not pressed. AR

So he took no phone or keys, just wanted some attention? Nice pic, tho.
