Thursday, April 19

At 11:50 p.m. on Thursday—An incident reported as an “assault with a deadly weapon” occurred on the block of 4400 Eagle Rock Blvd., near the Alumni Avenue and York Boulevard crossing. However, Lt. Mike Menza, watch commander at the Northeast Community Station, tells Patch that this incident revolved around somebody who brandished a knife whose blade was longer than six inches.

“A lot of times, officers will take reports that are not actually ADW,” Menza said, referring to this particular crime’s abbreviations. “To qualify as an ADW, a crime has to cause some sort of grievous bodily harm to the body. It can’t be a battery or a brandishing.”

Crime reported belatedly from the previous week:

Friday, April 16
