Firefighters extinguished a half-acre grass fire in Eagle Rock Friday afternoon near the northbound 2 freeway interchange with the 134 freeway.
A total of 25 firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Glendale Fire Department knocked down the blaze in about half an hour, LAFD spokesperson Erik Scott said, adding that the fire did not damage any structures and nobody was injured.
The fire started at about 4:15 p.m. The California Highway Patrol was considering closing the southbound 2 freeway's interchange with the 134 East freeway, Scott said, adding that he was not aware if that portion of the freeways was closed or not. The CHP office in Los Angeles was unreachable for details.
