Fire Knocked Down in Glen Iris Avenue Guest House

A fire erupted in a small, detached guest house behind a single-family dwelling on Glen Iris Avenue in the early hours of Friday, and 30 firefighters from as many as five stations knocked down the blaze in 21 minutes.

Firefighters from Eagle Rock Station 42 were the first to respond to the fire at 4987 Glen Iris Ave. at 12:19 a.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Erik Scott said.

When the firefighters asked for got to the scene, the rear of the guest house was in flames. Nobody was injured in the fire, Scott said, adding that its cause is under investigation and the damage to property is being assessed.  

Besides Fire Station 42, engines from fire stations 55, 12, 56 and 44 responded to the incident.
