UPDATE: Lanes Closed Tuesday Morning After Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on 134 Freeway

The crash shuts down the number 2, 3, and 4 westbound lanes.

A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle collision today on the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway in the vicinity of Griffith Park, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash, which took place in the slow lane of the 134 Freeway just west of the Golden State (5) Freeway, was reported at 6:37 a.m., said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The crash shut down the number 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the westbound 134, creating a huge traffic backup and generating a SigAlert declaration at 7 a.m., according to Villalobos. All lanes were reopened by about 10:15 a.m.
