LAPD Northeast Station Warns of Bomb Threat

Suspicious package is reportedly found in the area in or near the San Fernando Road station

The Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Division warned residents near its San Fernando Road station that there might be a bomb in the area, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Residents were informed about the bomb threat Sunday, when the LAPD closed streets on North San Fernando Road between Fletcher Drive and Glendale Avenue, according to the news report.

CBS quoted an unconfirmed report from the scene of the incident as saying that a hand grenade might have been left at the Northeast station, and that the LAPD Bomb Squad was investigating the device.
