Police Arrest Man for Alleged Domestic Violence on York Boulevard

Friday night's arrest, outside LAFD Station 55, causes false speculation of a shooting incident, a Northeast LAPD watch commander says.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a domestic violence call late Friday night on York Boulevard and arrested a male suspect outside Los Angeles Fire Department Station 55 in Eagle Rock.

LAFD officers identified the suspect from a description they were given and stopped him at about 11:30 p.m. as he was driving in front of LAFD Station 55, which is located at 4455 East York Blvd., Sgt. Sanford Rosenberg, a watch commander at the LAPD Northeast Community Station, told Eagle Rock Patch Saturday.

Just as the officers were arresting the suspect, they got a call about a shooting in front of LAFD Station 55—but the call was fallacious because no shooting occurred, Rosenberg said.

“I guess the suspect hit a car as he was coming out of the driveway [of his residence] about a block from Engine Company 55,” Rosenberg said. The police presence, combined with “all the traffic noise, could have given the impression of a shooting,” he added.
