Police Arrest Two Men in Eagle Rock
LAPD Watch Commander says it may have been a "common arrest" that did not come to the notice of the Northeast Division.
LAPD officers from several patrol units detained and handcuffed two men in Eagle Rock Monday afternoon as a police helicopter hovered overhead, but the watch commander at the Northeast Division police station said he wasn’t aware of any details related to the incident.
“It sounds like a common arrest, and if [the incident] didn’t spark any pursuit or criminal threats, there was no use of force against an officer and if nobody was seriously injured or hospitalized, it wouldn’t have come to our notice,” said Sgt. Wayne Guillary, commander of Watch No. 3, adding: “Its been a quiet day—the only thing that came through for us was that the Olympic Division needed an extra unit."
The police activity occurred around 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of Corliss Street and Eagle Rock Boulevard. Several police cars, with lights flashing and sirens blaring, could be heard as a helicopter circled overhead. In the photographs above, one suspect can be seen in the front left and the other in rear right behind a LAPD cruiser.
