Crime Blotter UPDATE: Car Used as 'Weapon'

Young woman, upset with boyfriend, drives her car into his—nobody hurt.

At 3:50 p.m. on Monday—An assault with a deadly weapon did occur on the 4100 block of Eagle Rock Boulevard, but the weapon wasn’t a gun or a knife—it was a brown-colored 1992 Honda Accord. “It was a domestic violence scenario in which someone who got upset or jealous drove a car at slow speed into another car,” said Detective John Tarankow of the LAPD’s Northeast division. “Nobody was hurt, but at the moment the vehicle itself was considered an assault weapon.”

The errant driver was a young woman in her 20s from Highland Park who was upset with her boyfriend, also a Highland Park resident, Tarankow said, adding: “They happened to be driving through Eagle Rock.”
