Glendale Police have arrested a tennis coach at the Scholl Canyon Tennis Center on suspicion of molesting a 15-year-old female student.
Dale Kim, 46, of Los Angeles was arrested Tuesday, according to a news statement from the Glendale Police Department.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 10 counts of lewd acts on a child, seven counts of oral copulation with a minor, and four counts of rape of a minor, authorities said.
Detectives reported that several alleged acts happened after tennis practice at the Scholl Canyon Tennis Center, located in a sprawling municipal park area on Glenoaks Boulevard that includes the 18-hole Scholl Canyon Golf Course. Kim apparently rents the tennis courts from the center to conduct private lessons, police said.
He is not affiliated with Scholl Canyon Tennis Center or the City of Glendale, officials said.
Further acts of intercourse were in a motel room in the Tujunga area of Los Angeles, police said.
Kim has been a tennis coach for more than 10 years. Glendale Police detectives are interested in identifying any other individuals who may have been victims or may have additional information for the ongoing investigation.
Kim's bail was set at $875,000 after he appeared in Glendale Superior Court Wednesday. His next court date is Oct. 15 at Burbank Municipal Court, 300 E. Olive Ave., Burbank.
