Dog Park Committee, Bike Safety, Vons Construction on ERNC Agenda

The Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council meets Wednesday to discuss a host of local issues.

The monthly board meeting of the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council is scheduled Wednesday from 7 p.m. to around 9 p.m. at Eagle Rock City Hall, 2035 Colorado Blvd.

Below is the agenda for the meeting, which is open to the public. Eagle Rock residents are encouraged to attend. Swork coffee and snacks and will be served. 

• Announce Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition bike safety classes at Eagle Rock City Hall, scheduled on Sept. 14.

• Discussion and possible action on a letter to the Department of City Planning regarding conditions attached to a construction-related alley vacation approval sought by the Vons grocery store on Figueroa Street.

• Discussion and possible action on a letter to the Los Angeles City Council regarding Council Motion 13­0658 on outdoor furniture.

• Discussion and possible action on the ERNC board’s resolution to State Senator Kevin de Leon regarding Senate Bill 405 governing California's plastic bags ban.

• Discussion and possible action on letter to Bureau of Neighborhood Councils and Department of Neighborhood Empowerment regarding Neighborhood Council reform efforts. ­

• Update on commercial development at 1351 Colorado Blvd., where a massage parlor recently opened.

• Proposal by ERNC member Matt Harrington to form a Dog Park Committee.

• Discussion and possible action on proposal to form Elections Committee to begin planning 2014 ERNC elections.

• Discussion and possible action on request to approve up to $1,250 for ERNC outreach materials, to include name tents for ERNC and Land Use meetings, brochures, magnets, shopping bags and other items.

• Discussion and possible action on request to fund Community Improvement Project for up to $7,500 for Eagle Rock street banners.

• Discussion and possible action on request to fund Community Improvement Project for up to $100 for pilot program to purchase stickers for bicycle racks.

• Discussion and possible action on request to fund annual expenditure of up to $200 for ERNC post office box.

• Discussion and possible action on request to fund $600 for one year's worth of refreshments during ERNC meetings.

• Discussion and possible action on motion to reconsider Community Improvement Project of up to $935 to sponsor one band at the Eagle Rock Concerts in the Park on July 28.
