Eagle Rock's 'National Night Out' is Tonight

Support local anticrime initiatives and let criminals know our community is fighting back!

Since last Friday’s armed robbery outside the Vons supermarket on Figueroa Street, the LAPD has reported three more crimes in Eagle Rock through Crimemapping.com, a nationwide repository of the latest crime data.

Two of the incidents—both on Saturday—are related to thefts. The third, on Sunday, involves a stolen bicycle from the 2400 block of Colorado Boulevard.

Summertime, warned LAPD Chief Charlie Beck in June, is the high season for crime. Perhaps befittingly, summer is also when communities, businesses, law enforcement agencies and local officials across the nation participate in “National Night Out”—a show of solidarity against crime and violence. (More than 36 million people participated in National Night Out in 2010.)
