The Hermon City Council will conduct an election candidates forum tonight, Jan. 13, at which District 14 , the incumbent for the March 8 ballot, will be present along with his major electoral opponent, Eagle Rock resident and entrepreneur Rudy Martinez, who owns the restaurant on Eagle Rock Boulevard.
The forum, which will be held at the Hermon Community Church's Fellowship Center, is noteworthy because it offers community stakeholders the first opportunity to hear the views of Huizar and Martinez in the run up to the elections, not to mention how the two rival candidates face off in public. Hermon has hosted a series of lively and well-attended forums for candidates in just about every City Council District 14 election in recent decades—and today's event promises to be no different.
