Jimmy Gomez Gears up to Seek Your Vote (Video)

The Democratic Party’s officially sanctioned candidate for the 51st Assembly District elections renews his appeal to voters as the June 5 primaries draw near.

Roughly two weeks after the four Democrats in the race for the 51st Assembly District, squared off in a ‘'Meet the Candidates” forum in Eagle Rock, the campaign for one of the frontrunners, Jimmy Gomez, has posted a video on YouTube. The clip, shot at Gomez’s campaign office on Figueroa Street in Highland Park, essentially highlighting the same “Vote for me—I’m your candidate” talking points that Gomez, political director for the United Nurses Association of California, underscored at the on the night of April 25.

I thought the Patch was partial and giving equal time to candidates. I hope you give the same amount of time to Mr. Arturo Chavez and Luis Lopez.

To the best of my understanding, "equal time" is a requirement for public broadcasting organizations. We report what's in the news—and if any of the other candidates had put out a YouTube video, we would have featured it as well. For the record, we have written a couple of "meet-the-candidate" stories revolving around Luis Lopez, which will show up if you do a search for his name on this site. Lopez has also blogged on this site—and Mr. Chavez as well as Mr. Gutierrez are most welcome to do the same.

I have seen the patch give a lot more time to the other candidates. This video does a good job at explaining who the guy is and what he stands for.

Chavez is a career politican, Oscar has good ideas (but I don't think he will win), Lopez is on the Planning committee (is that who brought in all the condos?) I think Jimmy Gomez is the only clear choice. I do not agree with his politics but he is the only clear choice.
